Christianity and Islam: They’re Almost Identical!

By  |

A recent interview with alt-right Richard Spencer has Spencer flat out admitting that the alt-right is just like ISIS, just with a different religion. Now, everybody make shocked gasps. Not so surprised? You will be.

Both Christianity and Islam adamantly deny they have anything in common. And yet the two religions are almost identical. You can prove it for yourself by doing what is about the most subversive act possible in the United States, reading an English translation of the Qur’an. If you use their search, you will find most of the familiar names from the Christian King James Bible, including Noah, Moses, Abraham, David, Solomon, Saul, and yes, even Jesus Christ himself.

All the familiar stories are there too: Sodom and Gomorrah, Adam and Eve, Jonah and the Whale, the Ten Commandments, and so on. The same rules are there, too. Pigs are unclean, gays should be stoned to death, etc.

The fact is, what we in America call “God” is the exact same entity the Jews call “Yahweh” or “Jehovah,” and the Muslims call “Allah.” The chief difference is the resolution of God’s promise to humanity regarding their salvation. In Christianity, Christ was the savior and we’re done. In Judaism and Islam, God has yet to send a savior. Most of the prophets between Judaism and Islam are shared, but Muslims accept Muhammad while Jews don’t. None of them deny the existence of Jesus, but some just don’t buy him as savior.

Adherents of each religion, of course, are fast to bash down anybody pointing this out. Christians will argue that their God is unique because it’s a trinity, Catholics will rail on about how they focus more on the saints, Mormons will chime in “but what about Second Jesus?” Bullshit. All Abrahamic religions are the exact same identical root, with different factions splitting off based on whether it’s OK to eat pork or some silly trivia.

So no, the alt-right and ISIS aren’t even that different, and in fact the US and Saudi Arabia aren’t even that different, and in fact all the world’s fighting over religion is on the same side.
